

Pagoda's co-founder, Nick, grew up watching his mother run her nail salon for nearly 20 years. He witnessed her working long hours with little time at home. At 12, he was already helping with scheduling, calls, and upkeep, and always questioned why running her business had to be so hard and inefficient.
That’s why Pagoda exists: to streamline operations, attract clients, and give salon owners back their time so they can focus on what matters most.

Matt, like Nick, comes from a small business background. His mom is a small business owner, which has fueled his passion for helping other small businesses succeed. Before starting Pagoda, he spent three years at a Boston-based Series A startup, leading scale-up and go-to-market strategies.

Nick grew up in the nail salon industry, with his mom and extended family running and working in salons. That early experience gave him firsthand insight into the challenges owners face. Before Pagoda, he honed his technical skills as a software engineer at Capital One and Slalom.
